We bought Hershie from Bauernheim Llamas in October 2003 because she was sired by Merit. We did not get the opportunity to purchase Merit until about six months later when the Schulers decided to disperse their herd. Now that we have Merit, we have decided to offer Hershie for sale, although we would be happy to keep her.

Hershie is the kind of female we look for in a breeding female. She is very sweet, tall, athletic, a show winner, and also has a great pedigree of proven show winners. At the time of this writing, Hershie has about 12 ALSA points and is closing in on her Recognition of Merit (ROM). She inherited grey brown fiber with a lot of grey undertones. When we sheared her last year, we collected a lot of grey fiber that we did not realize she had, but she really does have a lot of grey. She actually closely resembles her sire Merit in color.

Some of Hershie's show highlights: She finished 6th in the Consolation placing at the 2004 Celebrity World Futurity. In 2004 she was awarded Grand Champion at the Northeast Llama Showcase for the medium wool female division, and she finished 4th out of 18 at the 2005 Virginia Classic.

Hershie will be bred to Argentine Don Novello for a May 2006 cria. Don is a very fine-fibered, sweet llama that just looks awesome. We are not offering any outside breedings to Merit, but here is your opporunity to have one of Merit's best daughters. Contact us for more information. $3500 Bred
